Default Daniel Janin - Hep Taxi

It must be time for another funky post on QX's 1980 library/production thread!

Daniel Janin was a French vibraphonist, composer, arranger, and conductor. He worked with the "Melodie en Soul-Sol" label in the 70's and composed some really funky pieces such as Hep Taxi. I don't think the label was used for any sports themes, but it could have been!
Spoiler for Daniel Janin:
"French vibraphonist, composer, arranger, and conductor, born in Paris (1931), died in Cap Ferret (2010). Was the conductor of the Olympia theatre orchestra in Paris for three years. As an arranger, he wrote scores for the Kurt Edelhagen Orchestra. Regularly performed as a conductor in French television shows. In 1975, he started a collaboration with Swiss circus KNIE as an arranger. Conducted Switzerland's Eurovision Song Contest entry 'Vivre' by Carole Vinci in 1978." - Discogs

This is an album "Vade Retro" he released with JC Pierric in 1974. Not quite sure if it is lounge-jazz or jazz funk, but it is surprisingly groovy in places. No. 1 ‘Black Night’, and no. 3 ‘Saramina‘ are apparently library funk.
