Music Banter - View Single Post - Wait, isn't Matchbox 20's "Disease" a cover?

I thought the song was a cover of a rock song from the 70s, like I remember it pretty well, and can even hear it in my head, but after stumbling across the MB20 version, I go to look for the original, but can't seem to find its existence anywhere. Even Wikipedia lists it as being a MB20 original. I, sadly, cannot remember who did it, or at least who I thought did it. I almost want to say Lynrd Skynrd, but I don't quite think the voice I hear in my head is entirely Ronnie Van Zant's voice.
