There are many trans activist talking points that are either lifted wholesale from gay lib and feminism or rely on an implied (and false) analogy with those movements. But this is so obviously canned and detached from reality that it takes a Tristan to actually try to wheel it out.
As I see it, attraction to MTFs usually means you are willing to settle for the vaguest simulacrum of femininity, anything remotely woman-like. In other words, it's a very advanced and likely untreatable stage of porn brain.
Not to say there aren't very special kinds of beauty to be found in gender bending (few would disagree that the trans actor from the Crying Game is beautiful, for instance) but those overlaps that can be found between that and the mainstream trans movement seem to me rather accidental.
