I just was looking for a thread here where I said as much a while ago, it was the Elon Musk hate thread or something like that. Seems it was deleted for some reason and it's a shame. Not because the points I was making (about the Stalinist vocabulary of current day "anti-Zionism" or that a lot of the talk about "decolonization" is just ugly "get off my land" fundamentalism with 0 tolerance of people of a different race) were so original and unique. But (and this is of interest to me alone obv) because I was still making them rather mildly and from a relatively left-leaning place, which is where I still was back then on Israel.
Anyway there's a fantastic piece out today on all this calamitous stupidity by a real historian (and the author of biographies of both Stalin and the city of Jerusalem, both of which are warmly recommended)
