btw, in Russia (Soviet Union) punk rock was not a music of the streets. Only music lovers who were seriously into music could afford records with foreign performers. And their children from quite prosperous families created the first punk rock bands, using the sound of punk as an instrument of self-realization (often creating new directions of art rock, such as Siberian punk and other).
