I’d start with songs that have a strong hook or atmosphere, because those are usually the ones that make you want to come back. A few worth trying are Queens of the Stone Age – “No One Knows,” Deftones – “Be Quiet and Drive,” Alice in Chains – “Would?”, and Chevelle – “The Red.” Since you already enjoy Slipknot, Korn, and SOAD, these should still feel familiar while opening the door to some different sounds.
