I imagine that the fact they`re been together for 8 years , married for 3 as well as him recently being awarded a doctorate and all while have a well paid bank job would also be factors for considering him a loser too.

Like I said before, its the case that I've never actually
met any well adjusted guy who was in such a situation and that's taking it on a case by case basis in which every case so far has followed the same pattern. I always hear stories about so-and-so who is going out with somebody that much younger and since they were in school and so on, but I won't believe it until I actually see the evidence.
