EDIT: Er, about 4 posts too slow, sorry team. Yeah, I had that thought too boo boo. Pop is kinda like the term indie.

If it's popular, it's pop. If it's independant, it's indie. That sort of thing. It can't really be defined by the music.

Look at things from more then one perspective. Think of it as an incentive to find something a little more. Each time you hear a new song you form an updated, ever-changing grounding on what things you like. The more pop you heard when you were little is highly likely to have had some impact on your future tastes at some point or another. Therefore, I say it's a bloody size 13 in the door!
