The answer, to me, is quite simple: All of the knowledge you could glean from the Internet holds little value in comparison to face-to-face interaction. Just a simple conversation, let alone a collaboration, with someone who knows what you want to know or does what you want to do will help you grow much faster as an artist than going on the Internet and surfing.
