Whats mainstrem there might be seem underground there. MuchMusic is all we really have for a music channel, and all out radio stations pretty much play is classic rock and 90's rock. The only way to hear about new or some old bands here is to find them on the internet, or if we go to some punk concert.
Precisely. Some people still fail to realize that a band's exposure in one country is never the same as its exposure in another. These bands are all under a microscope in the U.S because that's where they originated. Quite frankly only a minimal percentage of people in Canada have even heard of 'The Double'. Numbers might be slightly larger for 'Interpol' and 'The Fall of Troy' but not by much.
