Basically, before even getting to know the person, you can know all these things? Did you ever consider they just like that style? Or that music, or that whatever? Just because they like something doesn't mean they're a fake, liar or a loser. I can understand saying the majority of scenesters are like that, because yes they are. But you can easily point them out, I hang out with 'scene' kids all the time. We go to shows, and you can tell which people are their to look cool and which aren't and you can't tell that by what they're wearing.
