I've never really had this problem. In my group when we go out we usually prefer soda to alcohol and none of us ever drink that much. When we do drink it's usually just one or two and we're fine to drive home. I have been to a couple of parties, not with my friends, where people did get drunk but I got a ride there from my family and picked up later. I don't think it's a good idea to go to a party where you might want to drink a few drinks, and expect that there be someone sober to drive you home. I guess I just don't trust people that much. I don't really like to drink.
