The toasters are a 2tone band. Thats all there is too it. All this wave theory stuff is bull **** anyway. As far as I can tell most people who talk about this wave stuff use it to refer to when ska became more popular. That and most people refer to "3rd wave" as all the ska punk bands out there. The way I look at it is if you want to divide ska into waves of its popularity than there is around 10 waves of popularity. the problem is that people divide ska up into "waves" rather than styles or genres. People throw every rocksteady,ska,and dancehall track into 1st wave. The toasters are a 2tone band. They carry a deffinitave 2 tone sound and were influenced largely by 2tone bands. They are not a "3rd wave" band as 3rd wave isnt a genre of music.
