I was once woken in the middle of the night around 4am by the sound of footsteps on the landing. I went to investigate and found my son (about 2 1/2 at the time) in his bedroom with toilet paper all over the floor.
He'd been to the toilet in the middle of the night for a crap.
Closer inspection revealed that his bedsheets and his hands & legs were covered in the stuff. He hadn't washed after himself.
I changed his bedsheets, then showered him and dried him with one of two towels we keep in the bathroom.
After which I put him to bed and then went to wash my hands.
I was thinking to myself, despite my initial annoyance at the inconvienience caused at such an ungodly hour...what a good lad he'd been for trying to go to the toilet on his own in the middle of the night.
So I shouted to him, what a big boy he'd been and he replied "yes, I am and I wiped my hands on the (other) towel afterwards"...just as I was drying my face!
