Normally, I am very verbose in my songs, I write a lot - I like to play with the language in large amounts. I took a more direct approach this time I've also re-instated the convention of a chorus, something I am not a huge fan of doing, and still am not sure if I am. I'm feeling creative lately. So I hope you enjoy my little experimentation. And hopefully I will be posting more. The new boom in the songwriting forum is encouraging.
A Discouraging Phenomenon of Distance
A dismal little girl
Finds asylum in a hole.
Escaping the scary,
World on the outside.
Therein she cries
For a way home.
But what hand will
reach in and save her?
And how will they,
Know the way home?
And who will come for the lost?
And who will cry for the lost??
And who will forget the lost?
A man sits gutterside,
Watching the couples
And friends walk by.
His clothes are a mess,
and he has to confess,
That he longs for,
some company during,
Those lonely nights.
But who will come for him?
And how will she,
Know the way home?
And who will come for the lost?
And who will cry for the lost??
And who will forget the lost?
Pretty flowers on her,
Dress, this young woman,
With a fake smile. She
Has forgotten the sound,
Of kindness and knows,
That a gentle touch is hard to find.
She waits, she's naive,
That stupid knight has,
Yet to arrive on golden steed.
Will he ride to find her and if so,
Will he know the way home?
And who will come for the lost?
And who will cry for the lost??
And who will forget the lost?
These are just some,
Of the thoughts and,
Faces of the lost ones,
Who are disregarded and alone,
But not so lonesome,
As the lost are surrounded by,
Others who are lost and,
Everyone is just waiting,
To be found, To be fine.
So I'll find you, if you find me.
And then if we can do it.
We'll find a way home.
And we will come for the lost.
And we will dry the tears of the lost.
We will never forget the lost.
