I think to answer the question you'd have to know how people truly care for each other. For the most part I think it's a selfish thing and it could even grow to an empathy thing. It's selfish because it was your friend, or your role model or just someone who got you through your daily work. And an empathetic thing thinking that someone else lost the same thing. The question is also does love exist? Or is that just a bunch of bs and care is only conditional.
