If an artist never does a live show because they aren't there to do live shows than thats cool, but if you're going to be playing live then you really want to do this part well.
I reckon at least by never playing live you never give the fans much of a reason to think your a crap artist, as long as you've got the midas touch in the studio they're happy. But playing live is risky in the sense that if your not harry flash than it can be quite damaging no matter how good your albums are.
