I think it's safe to say that the significant majority of posters here are under 30, and all but a small handful are under 40. People generally tend to favor the music that was produced and released while they were growing up. That's primarily what was pushed at them on the radio and in record stores, and of course on the internet for the last couple decades.

So it's not surprising that the 60's and 70's aren't doing that well. Which is meaningless, since everything is subjective and there is no "best" decade. Just because the 60's/70's get fewer votes here, doesn't mean the music was somehow "worse".

The 80's aren't my favorite, but I have to admit it was a decade of great change in music. Several completely new genres came on the scene in the 80s, and some genres that were born earlier evolved in the 80's.

Not the best, IMHO, but an interesting decade nonetheless.
