Sorry for double posting, but I was wondering what you guys think about this.

Ok, this is a hypothetical situation;

You are a guy, and you and your girlfriend are both smokers. One night, you have a little romp in the sack, and a week later, you find out your girlfriend is pregnant.

Now you know cigarette smoking is bad for you and that it hurts you, and you are willing to accept that. So does your girlfriend. But with this baby in the mix, things have to change because now the baby is at risk. So you quit smoking. Its hard and whatever, but you eventually do kick the habit. But in the meantime, you are trying to get your girlfriend to stop smoking, saying that it is both hers and your baby and she doesn't have the right to cause it any harm by smoking. She thinks you are trying to violate her rights, and comes up with "my uterus, my choice." Personally, you are pro-choice when it comes to stuff like abortion and believe that a woman has a right to give up a baby that way if she doesn't want it. But now that your having the baby, her smoking could increase health risks to it.

Who do you think is in the right? The guy worried about the welfare of his child that he is willing to violate her rights to protect it from harm, or the girl who carries the baby in her uterus but still continues to smoke despite the risk to her child?
