Ok Computer; The Bends: HTTT; Kid A

'In Rainbows' is great, but feels more like a step sideways than forward from HTTT to my ears.
It's their first album since 'The Bends' to not have a clear/direct theme. Radiohead's use of strange noises and long passages are awesome, but feel more out of place in a non-concept context.
Yorke's voice sounds better than on the last few albums. Lots of guitars, but a return to clean Fender sounds rather than the rock of 'Electioneering' that I was hoping for. The drumming is suble, but really good. Check out some of the great double-stops in '15 steps'
Where the hell is the bass? Hopefully the real cd when it's released in feb. will sound ALOT better. A band like Radiohead don't translate as well in mp3, they need sonic space.
The highlight to me is 'Weird Fishes', the creepiest thing they've written since 'Exit Music (From a film)'.
It'll be intresting to hear the other disc.
