"I'm Sorry"
"I'm sorry", said the mouth--
The opposing subject did not speak.
Instead, the eyes opposite the speaker threw themselves down in fever,
Their lashes anticipated wet, rolling infant tears like expectant midwives
And the sadist, sensing success, drew its mouth to stop more soldiers from exiting
It bit its lip, and blood followed; a silent funeral procession for the two that had fallen
No one was sent to retreive the unfulfilled words,
Those words hanging dead in mid-air
The corpses rotted before the eyes of the beholder
Anguish plagued the eyes' newborns, who slowly aged, and faded,
Knowing only of death--
Martyrs.
