Half the fun of being a music lover is the lengths you'll go to to find something original and integrous. The corprorate music industry is concerned with target markets and figuring out who is going to sell the most amount of records to the most diverse array of people. Punk bands are making pop tunes these days because the industry knows that they can sell a fickle teenager a punk image more effectively than they can sell them punk music, and pop music sells itself to those who are willing to allow their own tastes in music to be decided by what's in maximum rotation on the radio or MTV. Your'e not going to find much worthwhile music unless you turn over some rocks to look for it.
