This is spoken word, and is supposed to be more...rapped, than anything I guess.

you’ve been given two choices

1) sit and watch shit happen
2) get up and dance

you choose get up and dance because it’s always better to dance than to watch someone else dance
because no one even likes dancing anyway.

watching dancing is like watching poker being played
on an ice rink with only dead dogs dealing the cards
and the cards peel like rubber from skidding tires out of the
rotting paws into the hot fleshy hands that beg for them, doing tricks
and playing until every reserve is dried up, every dollar spent while

coins pile up like chips and are eaten by every lost
soul whose good luck and ability to keep a straight face could
be put to better use in a suit and tie or in a sideways building
with arches on top that stretch toward the air screaming
“clouds we will reach you someday”
which is when the clouds respond with a curt
“but not today”
and brush off the arches as though they weren’t so pointed
or sure of themselves.

the arches don’t think twice about it though because they’re just like you.

they’re not just going to sit and watch shit happen either.
