I agree with etcetc. The country of today is mostly just so simplistic lyrically. I like a little bit of old country. To me, the problem is that you hardly ever hear them sing about anything other than themselves, or their lives. I never hear them sing about anything interesting. If it's not about them, and their own life, it's about their relationship with God or something. I travel all over the country and virtually every modern day country station I happen upon, is usually somebody talking about how hard life is. I guess some people might think that way, and it's hard to judge them, because their life might be extremely difficult. I mean, if that's where you are in your life, and you want to hear a guy sing about goin' out and gettin' drunk on the weekends, then fine. It's just not my cup of tea.
