Sure, same boat - I like country, I just don't like post Alabama / Randy Travis country. I did grow up listening to country in the 70's & early 80's due to my folks - we were in South Carolina after all, so that helped keep my interest.
I like the more 'outlaw' variety though, Townes Van Zandt, Lucinda Williams, etc. I don't care too much for altcountry, it just too often sounds contrived.
As for bluegrass - yes, I like the old time variety but not the modern hippy variety.
