I've been appreciating 'background music' and it's musicians since I was a kid. Mostly in the realm of soul.
Coincidentally I've been discussing them here only recently.
It's true to say that some of the craftmanship that goes into some records outweighs the contribution made by the front artist by a golden mile.
There's so many world class musicians that never get the recognition they deserve.
