Yes but that's the thing, you're willing to admit that the appeal ultimately lies in Pete! If it's the case that you wouldn't be paying them much attention if Pete wasn't there, then you're not taking them seriously.
The way I see it, Babyshambles is a band that exists merely for the sake of Pete-loving. Which is fine, I mean, the best of luck to him and all. I just don't think people who claim to take them as a 'serious' proposition can really be being entirely honest.
