I like that song. I understand it to mean that we're not all the same and therefore any attempt to enforce equality will never properly work. In the last verse, the lines "For they passed a noble law. And the trees are all kept equal. By hatchet, axe, and saw" suggests that humans still insist on enforcing equality, despite the consequences and horrible pruning required.

The vocals are an acquired taste and they would benefit from another vocalist, but his basswork is ridiculous. I think he's a brilliant songwriter and he's one of my main inspirations as a bassist.
