In the hardcore thread I posted As I Lay Dying, FAtA, Hopesfall, etc. As did others, everyone accepted they were hardcore... yet in this forum people are saying their screamo. Which is it, what's teh difference... I kinda thought I knew until this came up...
Sorry for bringing up the whole genre thing... from the little time I've been on this board i kinda noticed that genre labeling is a touchy issue.

Hardcore (Frost will of course disagree) is anything that is heavy and involves mostly screamed vocals. Screamo is usually softer with a mix of screamed and sung vocals. As I Lay Dying is metalcore. FATA is screamo. Hopesfall is screamo (well until A-types came out, now their just emo rock). Genres can mean what you want them to.
