I came home from work early, my wife was home looking after our son (he just turned 2) and I did what I always do when my wife was home, knocked on the door then looked through the window... just in time to see one of the planes fly straight into one of the twin towers on the living room TV.
I remember swearing, but definitely didn't have the impression that it was the end of the world like some have mentioned here.
