There are actually two distinctly different genres of music called "acid jazz". The original was a style of "west coast" jazz from the late 60's/early seventies jazz that's very mellow with a lot of bright yet laid-back melodies and intermittent horn arrangements. The legendary jazz guitarists Wes Montgomery is almost always associated with this style of music as he undoubtedly pioneered the genre. The second genre is, of course, electronica; and while I could probaly just pop onto wiki and make myself look a lot smarter than I actually am, I will instead confess that I know nothing else about it.
