On this site maybe, but in the music world I think he is vastly underrated.
New Moon was a great compilation, but Elliott would have probably hated it.
Whatever (Folk Song in C) for instance, it had no significant meaning other it being a song he wanted to record. There's a reason these songs didn't make it onto any of his albums.
Favorite song from it is probably New Monkey, his Big Star cover was pretty banging, too.
