This ****s over any Godsmack bassline. BTW, that bass solo you posted was very average and I'm telling you that as a bassist. Picking up a bass and doing some half-arsed gimmicky, not to mention sloppy slap/pop line is anything but original. There's very little groove there, and the rhythm is incredibly jagged/contrived.
And bassists aren't guitarists. A bass solo is NOT the way to judge a bassist's skill (and nor should it be the case for a guitarist anyway). Being a skilled bassist means that you tied together the rhythm and melody, you don't overplay, you write the perfect bassline for the song and you groove.
