why not just get a good fuzz box and keep using your bass amp?

one thing to keep in mind you can play a guitar (and effects) through a bass amp safely. you CANNOT play a bass through a guitar amp without risking serious speaker damage (especially not with effects).

a decent fuzz box will run you way less than a new amp and provide you with the semblance of having a clean and dirty channel.

if you want more power than a 30W bass amp i'd recommend looking at the warwick sweet 15s. i've been using one for about a year now, ran me about $600, has 100W of power, great tone, sounds nice and smooth when i'm playing clean but doesn't get muddy when i stomp on my big muff.

seems my model has been discontinued, the 'take 12' has 80W of power which will still make your pants shake when you crank it. the sweet15.2 now has 150W of power which will DEFINITELY make things shake when you crank it.
