Default Intoxicado: New Band from Canada

Intoxicado is a new band from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The band formed at the end of 2006 with the intention of playing blues, but as a result of their diverse range of influences - Gun’s N’ Roses, The Black Crowes, Faith No More, Blue Rodeo and 1970’s Elton John – their sound grew into hard-hitting, alt-country blues rock .

Each member of the band brings their own unique flare. Carey Bennett provides the crunchy rhythm guitar. Brett Oliver brings ripping guitar solos. The grooving bass licks come from Chris Comeau, with thoughtful vocals and piano from Tim Gormley. Matt Harper’s driving beats tie the band together.

The band started performing live in April of 2007 and in only one year have had the opportunity to share the stage with some major talent, such as The Marble Index and White Cowbell Oklahoma. A key highlight was opening the Blast at the Beach Festival (2007) for the likes of 54-40, Cheap Trick, and Aerosmith. It’s been a very busy year.

Intoxicado’s unnamed debut album is being recorded at Lukas Raine Recordings with Dave Skinner in Milton, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The first single was released on April 6. The full album’s release date has yet to be set.
