Music Banter - View Single Post - Why punish the members with rel="nofollow" in their signatures.

I post on 80 different music forums and the one's with rel="nofollow" code in the member signatures always fail sooner or later. I understand stopping link spammers in the posts with rel="nofollow" but i don't see why it would be in signatures for members that post here.
