I think this thread's gonna get moved real quick, but it should stay alive because it doesn't look like you're advertising...

I'm betting you don't have huge resources. You should first buy (or download) cheap mixing software and record a few songs yourself, and find someone to represent you. If you decide to go to the studio and record there, don't drop assloads of money into it. If you can't find someone to represent you, try to lobby to managers yourself to play at small gigs (coffee houses, bars and small clubs). The key is to get someone to recognize your talent so you can take your abilities further.
