and the reason the LP studio was awful was mostly because:

the only good lesser version of the LP is the LP special, but thats completely out of production now.

actually the LP studio is sold as being a step above the regular LP. they strip down the superficial niceties and focus on providing a better sound for recording hence the name 'studio'.
mind you as guitar bizarre points out whenever he gets the chance
