Music Banter - View Single Post - How to meet other musicians, music fans, etc?

I seem to only meet people that are into mainstream radio and pop and it annoys me. I've heard of a few music-specific dating sites like "Rock 'n Roll Dating" and such, but do they work? Seems unlikely, but might be fun. What other ways are there besides just being courageous out at shows?
