Definately one of the most underrated bands out there. Dusk at Cubist Castle and Black Foliage are two lost gems of the 90's, and the fact that they have such an incredible sonic palette to their albums with a mere 4 track is proof of their near-genius.
Plus, they can write a damn fine pop song a-la Jumping Fences, NYC-25, Hideaway, Holiday Surprise, etc.

Quoted for truth.
Dusk At Cubist Castle and
Black Foliage are spectacular. They combined great, layered experimental stuff with super-catchy pop songs.
On a related note, their second incarnation, Circulatory System, was quite strong too. Not as amazing as Olivia Tremor Control, but still quite good stuff.
