That kind of logic escapes me.

Lets apply it somewhere else. Lets take oh Brett Favre.

Would ripping up his current contract to play for the league minimum make him a better quarterback?? No. So why should that notion imply that someone is a better rapper just because they make less money or arent as concerned about money.
No-one is saying that being underground automatically makes you a better rapper. We're just saying that we prefer the work coming out of the underground, often it is much more original and intelligent than what is in the mainstream currently, because mainstream rappers have to be concerned about appealing to a much larger audience of casual music listeners who tend to appreciate different things than the members of this board.
