Pig Destroyer are indeed one of the better Grindcore bands around today and Lymphatic Phlegm are pretty good too but like a lot of music it becomes highly repetitive and I tire of it after 20 minutes or so.

I have seen many of the first Grindcore bands numerous times:

Napalm Death
Extreme Noise Terror
Terroriser
Carcass

and some bands that had elements:
Cerebral Fix
Bolt Thrower
Genital Deformities
