I don't care if chicks are hot in video games! It's more a matter of how they are portrayed in terms of them 1) just being portrayed as objects of sexual desire
What constitutes objects of sexual desire? A lot of female video game protagonists happen to be just that, protagonists who can fight alongside men and yes even overpower them, they just happen to be attractive and yes some of them wear revealing outfits. Chun Li and Cammy are my favorite Street Fighter II characters. And no not just because they're eye candy. I also consider them to be the best fighters in the game.

Sure there are some negative stereotypes in video games, as with any form of media, but I don't think it's anywhere as prominent as feminists claim. Nor do I think it should be taken too seriously. After all, they're just video games. If you expect deep social commentary and deep character development then you're looking in the wrong place.

And what about Kratos? A big muscleman in a loin cloth, I'd say that's pretty much the same thing. Men and women alike tend to have what you'd call "idealised" bodies in the world of fantasy, that's why it's fantasy.

and 2) being subordinate to men.
I find examples of this to be surprisingly rare in video games. Sure you have Princess Peach (but to be fair to ol' Peach she IS a princess and therefore considered a high authority figure in the mushroom kingdom ) and the like playing your typical damsel in distress role, which is a trend that has mostly died out anyway. But you also have characters like Lara Croft, Samus Aran and Jill Valentine playing strong protagonists who can fight and kick ass just as well as the men.

Even Zelda, one of the original video game "damsels" has evolved into a more complex character who now aids Link in a lot of his adventures and has some pretty kickass magic powers. These are just a few examples but rest assured there's a lot more. And I'd certainly love for you to provide your own examples if you have any.

And research HAS shown that a percentage of probably unintelligent males in the world react to this perception of women and believe that women are subordinate and that they can do whatever the **** they like to them and this is why 1 in 4 women in their lifetime will be raped or sexually abused.
While those are some good points I don't see it being very much related to my post.

By the way I AM NOT UGLY OR FERAL OR FAT. Go see for yourself in my picture in the members picture gallery thread. So I've destroyed all your feminist stereotypes. Sorry.
Look, I was using hyperbole for humorous purposes, same with the one about Christians. I think it should be clear enough that I'm not referring to ALL feminists.
