It really annoys me, you would think that they would change it up, since theirs only so many different combination's you can have.

Try to branch out into different forms of reggae. Dub especially uses a lot of synth instead of drum beats. Good bands to check out: The Black Seeds, Heavyweight Dub Champion, Fat Freddy's Drop, Scientist, those are some of my favorite dub bands.
