To be fair, they've sounded fairly different on each successive album. The only parallel between Wilco albums I can see is between Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born. Their last album sounds completely different from anything else they've done, but I think that's more due to the addition of an experienced guitarist like Nels Cline rather than a change in direction.
