I can see what you're saying but it's not like they were
that old at the time, they were only in their mid-30s. Honestly, I've never followed the Stones career all that closely so I wasn't even aware that this album was their stab at punk until you mentioned it. The songs I know off this album never seemed all that different from stuff they had done in the past to tell you the truth. I could see "Beast of Burden" for example having been written ten years earlier easily.
