Well it's not fair for animals to live an entire life of fear and have nothing more to it than that - fear and cruelty. They deserve a natural life.
But anyway I'm pretty sure my dog feels more than fear. He wags his tail and licks me when I come home, he gets excited when I tell him we are going for a walk, and he bites my brother because he doesn't like him... he's got much more of a range of emotions than just fear and nothing.
