Someone may want to clarify this because I may be wrong but as I understand it bootlegging is illegal, even though its unlikely to really be met with any serious legal action? Some bands do embrace it and even help to accomodate it. Metallica have a site dedicated to making officially licenced soundboard recordings of all their shows available for purchase but also dedicate a section of the venue to bootleggers to make their own recordings. Internet Archive: Acid Mothers Temple) which again shows the willingness some bands have regarding legal distrubtion of their live shows. It's certainly something I'd be extremely careful with mind if you're thinking about uploading them in large numbers.
