Icon Of Coil-Machines Are Us (2004)

Pop music given an Electro Industrial bent. Not everyones cup of tea at all but you put this on any half decent club and the naysayers will be tapping their feet for sure.

Industrial usually conjures up images of dark twisted monolithic slabs of noise but it is also repetition and pounding beats. This approach to industrial is massive in Europe with a whole slew of bands including Wumpscut and Istans treading similar ground, mixing eurodance/trance with a harder edge to give a perfect antidote to the usual chart dance fodder. Deep bass tones, pulsing synthetics and social commentary may not provide the most ambitious or original music but sometimes you just want to crank your system up and get the bass vibrating the room.
