RBG is a concept album about a person who commits a lot foc rime and cause a lot of trouble, but also is a political activist and avid member of his community. It starts out with a gritty anthem about the wrongs of pedodogy. It is one of the more impressive tracks, pretty much because the duo of dead prez have some of the best beats I have ever heard, and it shows in the opening track. Walk Like A Warrior is one of their many tracks about overcoming racism, it comes off as one of the weaker tracks, but guest Krayzie Bone impresses, and it makes for a very good collab. The next track is the second best on the album. It also deals with racism, and is very upfront about. That's one of the things I like about dead prez, they're very blunt about their message, the con to that is that their lyrics are just sub-par. Hell Yeah is where the album's themes turn from racism to a more "Fuck Welfare" type themes. dead prez really shows off their production skills in this track, but the lyrics are pretty weak. Radio Freq is the best song on the album. Lyrically, it impresses because the lyricism is at a level that you don't excpect from dead prez, and they use that to show the struggle depicted in the song. Way of Life and the closing track sum up the entire premise of the album, closing the story perfectly by mixing undertoned sampling with with a great production value that it's a reasonably amzing pair of tracks all considered. In one word I would describe this album as "different". Yes it has it's weak spots lyrically, but it never fails when it comes to all the other parts of that make hip-hop good.
Overall Score: 7/10
